- MetaTrader4 (MT4) is FX trading software developed by MetaQuotes Software.
MT4 has excellent chart functions allowing you to incorporate your own technical parameters called indicators, and customize them yourself. In addition to discretionary trading, it is possible to perform system trading (automated trading) by developing your own automated trading tool "Expert Advisor (EA)" or by obtaining EAs available on the Internet and installing them in your MT4.
MT4 can be used by traders worldwide regardless of their trading style or trading experience. Even those who are not familiar with software development can easily run an automated trading system by using EAs that are available for sale or provided free of charge. The chart functions are also excellent, and by combining their use with indicators, etc., it is possible to display technical indicators such as trade timing on the chart.
In addition to the technical indicators initially included in MT4, you can freely use countless other technical indicators created by investors around the world and distributed on the Internet to broaden the scope of your trading. - To use an MT4 account, please open an account with OANDA Japan Inc in advance. For more information, please click here After opening an account, log in to "My Page" and click on "Open MT4 Sub-Account" on either the Tokyo or NY server from [Open FX Sub-Account]. After you open your account, we will send you your MT4 login information by e-mail. When you receive the e-mail, please download MT4 from the MT4 download link in the e-mail. After downloading the file, please launch the MT4 screen and try logging in by clicking "File" in the upper left corner of the screen and then "Login to Trading Account."
- The website is provided by MetaQuotes, the MT4 creator. in this case, since MT4 has already been installed, please check if there is an "OANDA-MetaTrader4" icon on your desktop or other location. Also, please delete the community site.
- You may not have logged in. Please check your Internet connection and
enter the correct information for your login ID, password, and server from "File" -> "Login to Trading Account" in the upper left corner of the MT4 screen. - Only commodity CFD can be traded in the COMMODITY-CFD account. FX, CFDs on stock indices, and CFDs on commodities cannot be traded in the same account.
- You can only trade commodity CFDs in a COMMODITY-CFD account and cannot trade FX in the same account.
It is possible to display charts for FX on the account. Please click here for settings - Please confirm your login ID, password, and server. Your login ID was sent to you by e-mail after you opened your MT4 account. Or, you can check it after logging in to My Page. After logging in, you will find your "MT4" login ID in your account information. Your password is the one you set when you opened your MT4 account. To reset your password, please log in to "My Page" and go to "Manage Account" > "Change MT4 Password." The server information is as follows. Actual account (NY server): OANDA-v20 Live-3 (For direct input, mt4-ng-trade03.oanda.com) Actual account (Tokyo server): OANDA-Japan FX Live (For direct input, mt4-trade.oanda.jp) Demo account: OANDA-Demo-1 (For direct input, mt4-ng-practice01.oanda.com)
- We apologize for the inconvenience, but MT4 accounts that allow CFD trading are only available for actual accounts. We do not offer demo accounts.
- [History] of MT4/MT5 will be deleted after a certain period of time (three to six months), and you will not be able to check the history prior to that time. You can check your transaction history on "My Page". 1. Please log in to "My Page" using your PC. 2. Please click [Manage Account] > [Download Form]. 3. Please select [Transaction History], set the start and end dates in Custom Period, and click [Download Form]. *Acquisition period range is up to one month per time.
- Please follow the steps below to install. 1. Select [File] > [Open Data Folder] 2. Select MQL4 > Indicators 3. Copy/paste or move the indicator file to this folder 4. Close MT4 and restart (If you do not restart, the file will not be reflected in this folder.) 5. See [Indicators] in [Navigator] Please acknowledge beforehand that we do not provide support for verifying the operation of the automated trading program, custom indicator, etc., or for any problems that may arise as a result of executing the program, since the custom indicators are created by a third party and each customer's computer settings are different.
- Please follow the steps below to install. 1. Select [File] > [Open Data Folder] 2. Select MQL4 > Experts 3. Copy/paste or move the EA file to this folder 4. Close MT4 and restart (If you do not restart, the file will not be reflected in this folder.) 5. See [Expert Advisors] in [Navigator] Please acknowledge beforehand that we do not provide support for verifying the operation of the automated trading program, custom indicator, etc., or for any problems that may arise as a result of executing the program since the EAs were created by a third party and each customer's computer settings are different.
- CFD accounts can only trade CFDs, not FX. If you wish to trade Forex, please log in to "My Page" and open and add a sub-account for Forex by clicking on "Add Forex Sub-Account".
- After logging in "MyPage" of an live or demo accounthere, you can use the download link.
- When MT4 is running, the processing speed of your PC may not be able to keep up with the movement of the indicators and EAs that have been set up, and freezing may therefore occur.
In this case, in addition to increasing the specs of your PC, please try changing the following settings on your MT4 software:
1. Reduce the number of chart screens displayed
2. Reduce the number of indicators and EA settings
3. Reduce the number of charts displayed
and other settings.
Regarding the number of charts mentioned in 3, you can set this from "Tools" -> "Options" -> "Charts" in MT4 screen.
If you still have problems after trying the above, please try uninstalling and reinstalling the MT4 software according to the following procedure.
*When EAs and indicators are installed, it is theoretically possible to restore them by making a backup of the data inside the folder.
To make a backup, please copy the necessary files in the following folder to your own USB memory stick or desktop.
On "File" in the upper left corner of the MT4 screen -> "Open Data Folder" -> a window will open.
*EA (automated trading) files are located in the "Experts" folder in the MQL4 folder.
*Custom indicator files are located in the "Indicators" folder in the MQL4 folder.
(1) Control panel on Windows > [Add or Remove Programs] or
[Programs and Features] > uninstall OANDA-MetaTrader.
Note: Always be sure to click the checkbox [Delete user personal data]
(2) Delete the following folders before installing a new MT4. (The following folders may not exist.)
C:\Program Files (x86)\OANDA - MetaTrader\
C:\Users\\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\OANDA - MetaTrader
Then, empty the trash box in your computer and restart the computer.
(3) Install the latest MT4 after logging in to the actual or demo login page.
(4) Please log in again after installing it. - MT4 has five daily chart bars in a week.
- The GMT offset is as follows. For winter time: GMT+2 For summer time: GMT+3 Summer time: From the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November Winter time: From the first Sunday in November to the second Sunday in March
- When MT4 is offline, limit/stop orders are executed, but trail stop orders are not executed. Trail stop orders placed on the fxTrade trading screen can also be executed offline (NY server only). Please utilize this instead.
- For winter time: GMT+2, for summer time: GMT+3. Unfortunately, you cannot change the displayed time to another time zone. For displaying Japan time on the chart, please use a Japan time indicator that can be used on the Live account.
- MT4 charts are provided by our company as reference information for trading, but the execution price is determined by the price at the time our system processes the execution, and may not necessarily match the price on the MT4 chart. Also, MT4 charts are generated based on the sell price (Bid); the buy price (Offer) is not shown on the chart. Therefore, please note that when closing a sell position or entering a buy position on MT4, decisions cannot be made based on MT4 charts.
- Please check the following settings in MT4.
1) Select [Tools] -> [Options] at menu bar
2) Click on [Charts] tab and see if [Show trade levels] is checked
3) If not checked, click the check box and click "OK" button.
If you still cannot see the chart after trying the above, the chart is for a different currency pair from the one you wish to view.
If you trade on NY server, please check your currency pair settings while referring to this page - We provide MT4 charts as reference information for your trades, but please note that the execution price is determined by our system at the time of execution, so it may not always match the price on the chart.
